Ringgold UMC to become Las Parcelas sister church
Alcance Nicaragua is excited to announce that Ringgold United Methodist Church will be the sister church for the congregation in Las Parcelas, Nicaragua.
John Purrington, Pastor, Ringgold UMC, announced to the membership on December 14 that the church leadership had voted to become the sister church for Las Parcelas. Alcance Nicaragua acquired property in Las Parcelas earlier this year and has been praying for a sister church. There are currently around 60 people gathering to worship in this community.
Ringgold UMC has made several short-term mission trips to Nicaragua.
Ringgold will begin by encouraging and supporting Pastor Marcial and reaching out the community as a whole. As God provides, Ringgold will work with the brothers and sisters in Las Parcelas to build a worship center.
A focus of Ringgold’s mission work in Nicaragua has been education and teacher training lead by Lamar Brown. Lamar and Ringgold have held teacher conferences in Rubin Dario and have also contributed to the development of the Rubin Dario baseball ministry.
Randy Smith, Mission Chairman, has two trips planned for Ringgold UMC in 2009: January 10 – 17 and June 7 – 14.
Ringgold United Methodist Church recites their church Mission Statement during each service: “A community of believers inspired to develop, support and share relationships with Jesus Christ. “ Ringgold UMC will live out their Mission Statement in Nicaragua.
Please praise God for Ringgold UMC and pray for God’s direction as they begin this exciting relationship.

Alcance Nicaragua Support
Alcance Nicaragua asks that you prayerfully consider underwriting our ministry. We have on-going monthly expenses to keep the ministry going. We are excited about what God is doing through the Alcance Nicaragua ministry. In the past several months, more than 100 people have been baptized in Rubin Dario alone. We are seeking Churches to add us as a line item in their monthly Missions budget and for individuals who feel lead to support our mission to lead people into The Kingdom through church planting. Please support us with your prayers and financial gifts.
The board of Alcance Nicaragua wishes everyone a joyous, healthy and blessed Christmas and New year!
