Ringold United Methodist Church partners with Las Parcelas Church outside Leon, Nicaragua

With help from neighboring Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church,  Ringold plans to help build a simple Templo (Chapel) with the 68 adults who make up the new growing Las Parcelas Mission Church.  Ringold began partnering with Las Parcelas in January.  The Mission Church was stared under the front porch of a lay evangelist Marciel Reyes.  It grew to about 45 Children and adults.  Alcance Nicaragua, called of God to plant churches, was asked for help and purchased a lot for  the planting of this church in the community.  The Lord provided a beautiful lot with a spring and a creek for baptisms, which was purchased by Alcance Nicaragua.  Ringold, as Sister church, is helping support the lay evangelist/pastor so he can give more time to grow the church in this rural community of 2500 people who have no church beside this one.  Since January the church has begun to grow even more.

Ringold took up an offering of over $3,000 at Easter.  Youth have contributed $800 more and Tunnel Hill hopes to help as well.  A UMVIM construction team from both churches will go to work with the members of Las Parcelas the first of June.  They will begin digging footings and pouring concrete.  The total cost of the project when complete should be about $20,000.  Initially the partners hope is to just have a larger space with a roof.  They and other UMVIM Teams will build as donations are received.  If you or your church would like to help with this exciting mission in Making Disciples you should pray for this work then if you are led you may donate by sending a check to Alcance Nicarargua, 2500 Beaver Ruin Rd., Norcross, GA 30071 or use credit card and pay here on line.  Thank you for your prayers.  More information and pictures about the work at Las Parcelas to come.  Also pray for another possibility at Carlos Fonsceca community.  May the Lord bless you and yours.
